What Causes Stomach Rumblings And Diarrhea?

Question: Hello Drs. I'm a 40-year-old male went on a trip with a few friends to go fishing for the week made it to the house and started having some stomach rumblings and actually had diarrhea which is something very rare for me and later in the day maybe a couple hours later started having more diarrhea and by the time I came I was not able to sleep because every 30 minutes I had to run to the bathroom and was having More diarrhea. It is pure liquid and comes out at high pressure rate. There is a lot of stomach rumbling when I shift positions. I haven't eaten a lot of drank a lot so I don't know where all this liquid is coming from. I am currently taking Imodium and drinking sports drinks to try and rehydrate myself. What can cause this and how do I get rid of it? I don't want to be in bed all week and miss my trip. Thank you very much

Brief Answer:
Gastrointestinal infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Most likely you are suffering from bacterial infection of gastrointestinal tract. Due to some strange for your intestines bacteria in the food, your bowels has gotten infected. This causes diarrhea and abdominal pain/discomfort. Some part of such diarrhea can go away by its own. However some need medical attention and antibiotic treatment. If your diarrhea is present longer than 48 hours, you need to consult a doctor.
If this is present for a day only, you may try some probiotic treatment along with avoiding any solid foods and taking lots of liquids.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
