What Causes Stringy Bowel Movements When Diagnosed With Ileocecal Valve Ulcer?
Was the cancer operated upon?
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about this cancer that you had. For how long have you been having these stringy bowel movements? They could be related to constipation or to an obstruction as the feces exit through the anal canal. Did you get it operated upon and what was the final report after the surgery? Is your stool hard or soft? I will like to get these details to help me determine what the possible cause of this change in bowel habit is and what we need to do in order to address this.
I hope to hear from you about this and promise to get back to you as soon as your responses get here. Until then, be calm and optimistic and be rest assured I will help walk you through this.
Am so sorry for misreading this!

Hi,
I read this as cancer. What a big mistake on my part. Am sorry.
I am now concerned because this is not a common site for an ulcer. Can you check to make sure this is right? How was it diagnosed? Via a colonoscopy?
However, a healed ulcer may suffer some scarring and as such explains why there is narrowing of the stool. Though am not totally convinced at this time because the site is some what not typical.
Let me hear back from you on this.
So, do you have ulcerative colitis?
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
What was the diagnosis? Was it said to be ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease? Or what did they say the cause was? This is because an ulcer simply put doesn’t dd up an seem something is missing to make it a fully understood picture.
I hope to get some more specifics from you on this!
I will say monitor the stools only at this time!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Even if this ulcer caused a reduction in the diameter of the intestines, this is unlikely to present with stringy bowel movement. I will say monitor only and if this persists, then talk to a gastroenterologist. You will need to get the anal canal evaluated to identify possibly caused that may be responsible for narrowing the exit of feces from the intestines.
Keep me posted on the evolution of this. Until next, I wish you well..
You are welcome!
