What Causes Strong Odor In Urine While On Doxycycline?
Question: My urine has had a bad smell for about a week. When I am not fullyhydrated, such as in the morning, it appears somewhat cloudy. Other than that I have no other symptoms. I have had UTI's in the past and it does not have the same symptoms. I was on doxycycline for 10 days due to a rash on my neck and have had gall bladder removal and cervical spine surgery since the first of the year.

You recently were treated with Doxycycline and now you notice a strong odor to your urine. This could be a result of the doxycycline as a good portion of the metabolites of doxycycline is excreted through the urine.
The strong smell could just be highly concentrated urine and I would recommend drinking plenty of fluids so your urine does not get too concentrated. As long as you are not having any symptoms of UTI then I would not get too concerned about the strong odor.
