What Causes Sudden Change In Menstrual Cycle?

Question: Hi. Just a question- i usually get my menstrual cycle for about 4-5 days but this past month it only lasted 3-4 days. It came at the usual time but i did notice right side cramping about a week before. Now its back as well and my period is over. I do notice that when i fly this sometimes shortens my period. Not sure if theres actually a correlation. But is a shorter cycle ok? Thanks

Hi. My last period was april 10th and the most current one was may 8th. I havent been checked for anemia- only a fee months ago and things were fine. Is this a sign of anemia?
Brief Answer:
Mostly normal. Do some investigations for evaluation.
Detailed Answer:
Hello Dear,
Thanks for some added information.
In my opinion, shifting of period flow from 4-5 days to 3-4 days is quite normal as your cycle is quite regular. Long journey, mental stress, hormonal imbalance, dehydration, weight gain etc are associated factors.
Some other underlying cause could be ovarian cyst, anemia, pelvic or vaginal infection, thyroid disorder, high prolactin level etc.
I would order to undergo complete hormone profile (includes LH/ FSH, estrogen, progesterone, thyroid profile, serum prolactin) and Hemoglobin %. One pelvic ultrasound scan is also advisable. These will help to evaluate properly.
Take healthy diet with IRON supplements, drink more water or fluid to stay more hydrated, avoid stress or emotional upset, need adequate sound sleep and maintain genital hygiene.
Hope, I have answered your query. Wish your good health and take care.
