What Causes Sudden Onset Of Pain In Jaw And Neck?

Question: Last nigh I had a sudden onset of pain on the right side of my jaw and neck, the pain traveled through my shoulder around my back and into the middle of chest. the pressure would increase till it felt like a elephant was sitting on my chest. It continued for almost an hour, until I fell asleep. I woke up this morning and thought I was fine, but as I started to move around and start cleaning the pressure in my neck came back. right now it is just in my neck, feels like someone is slightly gripping it, the pressure goes down my neck and into my throat.

I appreciate your concern

Even though you are relatively young to have an MI, its not impossible. The description points to a cardiac cause. You need to go to an ER immediately to get an EKG done. If the EKG is normal and no serious cause such as pulmonary embolism, Pericarditis etc is suspected then costochondritis and GERD can be looked for and treated accordingly. GERD is treated with PPIs and pro kinetics like itopride. Costochondritis is treated with Ibuprofen like NSAIDs.
