What Causes Sudden Outbursts Of Prolonged Uncontrollable Crying In Infant?
food additives could be contributing to this behaviour? She is otherwise healthy and strong though still cruising on her bottom and not walking. I wonder if diet could be contributing to these episodes where she can be inconsolable for half an hour or more. I wonder if she could be in pain.
It could be due to abdominal discomfort
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
Children use crying as a way to express the reason that is bothering them. Most frequently children cry due to hunger, for nappy change, to express discomfort etc. She could indeed be in pain but more often children break into sudden inconsolable cry due to the discomfort caused due to abdominal distension and abdominal colic. Diet could have a role to play in this regard.
I would insist that you give her Decolic Drops (contains Simethicone) 1 ml when required and see if that makes a difference. If it is due to abdominal discomfort due to distension, it will provide relief. If it does not provide relief, I would insist that you visit a pediatrician and get the child examined. A clinical examination may reveal more facts than the ones that you would be able to mention.
Hope that helps.
