Question: I received an answer by Dr Mittal and pushed the wrong button! I need to respond to the questions posed to me.. I am a 56 year old female. I have experienced a weight loss of 40 pounds over the last 7 months with a loss of about 10 pounds in the last five days due to the inability to eat. I haven't experienced any nausea or vomiting. I was hoping you could give me an idea of how to stimulate my appetite so I could bypass a visit to the doctor. I don't think it's anything serious, just a problem with appetite. Please forward to Dr Mittal.

Thanks for your confidence madam.
Do you have any other symptom, like nausea, vomitting, abdominal pain?
Any reports? I am interested in complete hemogram, LFT, KFT and sugars.
So if you have any of these tests, I would like to know. Even the older tests will do.
I would also suggest an ultrasound of the abdomen to know if there is some growth in the stomach region. It is a possibility that should be ruled out.
Meanwhile, I would suggest you include some protein powders and supplements in your diet.
i am sorry but its not a yes or no question.
We need to take the help of either examination by a doctor, or an investigation
Please do respond so i can help you further.
And be careful with the buttons this time.
LOL! I appreciate your advice! I suppose I should take this a little more serious. I have not experienced any vomiting, nausea, or abdominal pain. That is why I haven't been too worried. I had labs done about a month ago. I didn't hear any problems except low range on vitamin D. I do take vitamin B12 injections but those are unavailable until the manufacturer can supply it. Thank you and I pushed the right button this time!
