Question: My female baby of 6 months suddenly lost weight and shortage of blood with constant fever. We have examine her for malaria and it was negative.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. I would like to know what exactly you mean by shortage of blood? Which parameter are we talking about?

Hemoglobin?
Platelet count?

Could you please share her entire blood report with me. I need to understand better what to suspect and how to go about the treatment.

If malaria is being suspected, the blood sample to test for malaria should be taken when your child has a fever, only when the temperature is present can we take a blood sample and check for malaria. So please do not use any medications that will cause the controlling or lowering of her high temperature, because this will mask the fever and we will not know when to take the sample to test for malaria.
