Brief Answer:
continue with your treatment and do regular followup with your doctor

Detailed Answer:
Welcome at HCM
i appreciate your health concerns
For how long you are suffering from it?
When is last time you had your thyroid function tests? Can you send me report?
The treatment of hashimoto thyroiditis is to replace the thyroid hormone with levothyroxine. The basic aim is to keep the TSH greater than .5 iu/L. There is need to adjust the dose of levothyroxine till the desired levels of thyroid hormones can be achieved.
In patients older than 50 yrs, it is recommended to start at low dose of levothyroxine and keep increasing it till desired values.
In your case there is still need to titrate the dose. Keep in touch with your doctor and follow His advice. Normally thyroid hormone testing is done after six weeks of adjusting the dose. Once desired kevels levels achieved the patient has to take that medicine , with yearly testing of thyroid function tests.
Stay calm and continue with your treatment.
Hope it helps if you still have any query feel free to ask.

Brief Answer:
changes in weight indirectly tell us about thyroid status.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome at HCM..
I really appreciate your followup..
Weight is important when you are dealing with patient having issues with thyroid. Whenever the thyroid hormones levels drop the patient tends to gain weight and vice versa. So it is important to check your weight and note any change. It gives an indirect clinical clue regarding the status of thyroid in this context. That being said, any changes to dosage is based on TSH value and not weight / symptoms.
Hope it helps
If you still have any feel fee to ask.
May you get well soon
