What Causes Swelling And Fluid In The Lungs After Cesarean Section?
Yes, it is normal and it will go away in 1 week.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
Yes, it normal to have some fluid in the lung after cesarean section. It is known as post partum pulmonary edema.
It is due to lower lobe Atelectesis (partial collapse) ddue to gravid uterus.
Actually gravid uterus (enlarged) can push the diaphragm and lower lobes. So movement of lower lobes are less during later part of pregnancy. This causes Atelectesis.
And this favours fluid in the lower lobes.
It will resolve itself after delivery.
It usually takes 1 week post partum for complete resolution of fluid.
You can try deep breathing exercise and chest physiotherapy for fasten recovery.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health.
Thanks.
