What Causes Swelling And Pain In Gums?
Vitamin B complex and/or antibiotics
Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.
Thank you for writing to us.
I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. In my opinion, there are two possible causes for your presentation right now and would like to suggest the following:
+Initiate a vitamin B complex supplement
+Rich diet with vitamin B12
+Avoid strong pain killers
+Ice water gargles
+If at all you have any pus draining from the affected region, then write back to me as you may require antibiotic coverage
Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help ma'am. Although there are many other causes for such a presentation, almost 70 % of cases are due to a vitamin B deficiency and the remaining are due to a tooth infection or a gum infection called gingivitis, both of which require antibiotic coverage. I hope you find my response helpful ma'am.
Best wishes.

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again.
It would be my pleasure to provide you with that information. Following items are rich in vitamin B12:
-Red meat (especially beef)
-Fish (especially trout, salmon, etc.)
-Milk
-Eggs
-Swiss cheese
-Chicken breast
-Cereals (whole)
-Clams
-Fruits and vegetables
You could go about the gargle, but let it not be too cold. For now let us wait to see if there is an inprovement with the mentioned suggestions (although improvement will be gradual as it takes time for vitamin b12 to return back to normal with diet and supplements). So please do not forget the vitamin b12 supplement as it will be most helpful if you indeed have a deficiency. Also, do you eat meat much, I forgot to ask earlier?
If at all (god forbid), there is no improvement over time (5-7 days) then we shall employ another approach. Please keep in touch and do not hesitate to write to me about anything, I am always here to help.
Best wishes.
