Brief Answer:
Rule out possible secondary infection at bite site

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HealthcareMagic for your health concern

Since the sympoms of redness, hives etc are persisting even after a week and you also have associated fever, it is important to rule out possible infection at the bite site. Physical examination can confirm the diagnosis. It would be helpful if you could attach a picture of the bite site if possible.

Please be advised to follow up with your primary provider to initiate antibiotics.
Meanwhile, keep the area clean and dry. Apply Mupirocin ointment (Bactroban ointment), which is available over the counter. It has properties that kill infection causing bacteria. Continue antihistamine if itching and irritation persists.
