What Causes Swelling In Arm After Donation Of Blood Plasma?
Question: My husband donated plasma 2 days ago and now his arm and hand are swollen. He has donated for years and never had this happen, should he see a doc or is this normal?
Brief Answer:
Normal
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query
If the hand from where the plasma was removed is swollen then it is normal. It is because of inflammation of the vein from which it was removed.
I recommend glycerin magnesium sulfate dressing over the arm for 2 days to reduce the swelling. It is available over the counter in any pharmacy. It would also be of help if you could attach a photo, i can see and tell you for sure what we are dealing with
I wish your husband a speedy recovery
Regards
