Question: Hi I am 45 and a heavy girl but have always been healthy. I do need a k really replacement and for that I am on percocet. Both knees are now in bad shape. But about 2 weeks ago I started retaining fluid bad. My feet ankles etc are swollen and sore. My doctor did tests my kidneys, liver etc are great. My pain test taken by blood shows it has spiked up to five. Why would I be retaining so much water all of a sudden and be so fatigued?

Brief Answer:
Hypothyroidism, Protein malnutrition, Diabetes

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for the query.

You need to be investigated for Thyroid disease, Protein malnutrition and Diabetes as well.

Do get the blood tests done accordingly.

Keep your limbs elevated, roll up an elastic crepe bandage over your knees, avoid squatting, cross leg sitting, climbing stairs, kneeling, lifting weights.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.
