What Causes Swelling In Labia Minora?
Question: I have a bright red swollen labia minora, it's swollen at the very top and is raw and hurts to touch. It is only swollen and red on the one side at the very top of labia minor. It is right on/ below glans of clitoris. It has happened once before, and I thought it was due too much stimulation and was rubbed raw. I've only had 3 sexual partners and only one in the last 5 years which is my husband, so I highly doubt it is anything sexually transmitted.

Keep the area clean, wash it with mild soap like dermadew or dove and wear only cotton undergarments. Clean the area with plain water 2 to 4 times a day and after drying apply liquid Povidone Iodine locally, it too dries fast. You can apply over the counter antibiotic cream in case there is scratch or friction related injury.
Decision on oral course of an antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicines can be taken based on examination. ( you need a prescription for this from your Doctor).
