
What Causes Swelling In Right Leg While Treating Knee Pain?

Question: Hello Sir,
My mother (Age 71 ) suffered a stroke last year. Post hospitalization ( its now close to 9 months ) she is taking below prescribed medicines by neurologist
1. Nuhenz, Coecoral - 1 tablet in the morning
2. Autorfit CV(20), Coecoral - 1 tablet each in the evening.
She is also taking
1. Telmikind - H in the morning
2. Good press Xl (25 ) in the evening suggest by our family doctor.
Since last 2 weeks she is also taking below tablets for Knee problem which are prescribed by Orthopedic doctor
1. Kondro OD - 1 tablet in the morning
2. Dolonext DT - 1 tablet in the morning
3. Rekool - 1 tablet in the evening
4. XtraCal - 1 table in the evening.
Today morning we found that her right leg has swelling. Swelling is increased by afternoon now.
Can you please guide me what could be the cause, ? What should we do to reduce the swelling .
What could be treatment / test we can do now to detect the reason for this swelling. Is this is because any side effect of above tables causing swelling,
Is it something serious and do we required hospitalization

-> Right hand only middle fingure and index finger
2. Is she XXXXXXX or bedridden?
-> She is moving , walking , not a bedridden only thing she informed that
she had yellow urine since today morning. She is not having temparature
3. If XXXXXXX , then was she on long bed rest and less movability in last few days?
-> Nope
4. Any redness over the leg?
-> No , not seen on swelling area.
5. Is she a diabetic?
-> No,
6. Her location ?

In any case you should get her Ultrasound color Doppler of legs performed as soon as possible.

Thanks for the reply. Now the swelling has started with other leg as well.
right leg has littel more swelling than left leg. Please advise shall we continue the regular medicines fro BP and stroke for tonight.
