Question: hi doctor, my mother s thyroid profile is attached. its from 3 years ago. she has a small lump on her left side of the neck. what could this be and how do we proceed? please help doctor.
Brief Answer:
Thyroid function is normal
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM. I have gone through the question and understand your concerns.
The swelling in neck can be either a thyroid swelling or a lymph node. Please consult a doctor who will do an ultrasound neck, which will confirm the type of swelling. If the swelling is significant, they will do a needle biopsy- FNAC.
Thyroid function in 2012 is normal.
Hope I have answered your questions. If you have any further queries I will be happy to help you
