default
Posted on Tue, 20 May 2014
Question: Hello doctor, I delivered a baby normally on 13th April, but about 5 days back(around 25th April) I have developed boils in my lower body parts and they seem to be getting no better even after having two courses of different antibiotic Mahacef and later Moxclav. I am also using Neosporin powder and Mupirocin ointment as advised by the doctor . Two recent pics about this are uploaded here

Pl let me know the future course of action and what has really caused this.

Thanks

Brief Answer:
Incision and drainage.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Madam XXXXXXX
First of all congratulations on having a baby.
Thanks for a properly snapped photographs that diagnosis is possible.

There are three (Multiple) openings,
There is a swelling near the anal area and the swelling in the upper part of anal area is suggestive of anal fissure. This is common during pregnancy and labor.
It appears to me that this infection in the fissure has spread to the nearby area.
If this is the photo after 2 courses of an antibiotic you have mentioned, my advise to you would be to undergo a proper incision, drainage and debridement of the abscess with three different openings. At the same time a dilatation will be done to help cure the fissure too.

This will help you to get rid of the disease fast, will heal faster and will reduce the need for further medications, which I hope you know should be minimum if you are breast-feeding the baby.

Please get in consultation with a General Surgeon and he will confirm this and go for surgery.

Wish you an early recovery; please feel free if you have any further queried.
