What Causes Swelling, Pain And Tingling Sensation Between The Anus And Scrotum?
Question: It feels like my urethra is swollen between my anus and scrotum. It used to be a dull ache. Now it hurts. It also feels like it is pushing against a nerve, causing a tingling sensation. A year ago, my doctor felt my prostate and thought it felt healthy after telling him that I was experiencing diminished urine flow. Could this be the cause? When driving it feels like my shorts are bunched up in a lump in the area described above. What is going on down there?

Brief Answer:
It could be a Periurethral abscess.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
As per your description, it looks like a Periurethral abscess. It is a common condition which occurs between the scrotum and anal opening.
Once the diagnosis is confirmed, the pus has to be drained under regional anaesthesia.
If the pus has not yet collected, then I prescribe Antibiotic like Clindamycin 300mg orally thrice daily for 5 days along with anti inflammatory tablet twice daily for 5 days to my patients with similar complaints.
Please consult your surgeon, get examined clinically and proceed accordingly.
Nothing to worry.
Hope I answered your query. Ifyou have any questions, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.
Regards
