What Causes Swelling Under The Right Eye?

Question: Under my right eye, the bags have puffed up over the last three days. Not under my left eye. It is the same eye that I have had diagnosed as having vetreous detachment in Sept 2016. Don't think there is any connection, but thought to include that info. My right eye is not unusually red or sore, although the lower inner lid is a bit discolored. Any ideas?
Brief Answer:
Insect bite
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
I have seen the image you have attached.
Unilateral orbital edema (lid swelling) is usually seen due to inflammation caused by insect bite of unilateral maxillary or frontal sinusitis.
If you have symptoms like running nose, headache or recent cold, then the swelling could be secondary to sinusitis and can be treated with a dosage of anti inflammatory medications.
Most of times such swelling is seen due to insect bite. The bite mark cannot be made due to the swelling. There may be a mild change in the color as time passes. Antihistaminics like Benadryl will help here.
Hope, I answered your query.
Wish you good health.
