Brief Answer: Monitor this..Tylenol if in pains! Detailed Answer: Hi and thank you so much for this query. I am so sorry to hear about this swelling and a sore tongue. It is not uncommon to have such lesions in the mouth. They mostly present as canker sores and should normally regress and disappear completely within a 5-7days. I will advice that you rinse your mouth daily with an antiseptic mouth wash solution. Also, take tylenol or any other pain medication should you be in pains. If this sore and the swelling should not regress significantly or disappear within a week, please seek medical attention for proper evaluation and consideration of other uncommon diseases of the mouth. I hope this helps. I wish you well and feel free to ask for clarifications and more information if need be. Thanks for using our services. Dr. Ditah, MD.
