Can you please attach a picture of this bump? Otherwise it is very hard to give valuable answer.

Such bump can be a lymph node, benign skin lesion or just an infection. The pain makes infection much more possible. It should be also somehow swollen.

I suggest you to consult your doctor. In case of doubts soft tissues ultrasound can be done to determine the nature of this lump.
