Brief Answer:
Swollen eyes are not known side effect of cefixime

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for asking on this platform

I can understand your concern. Zifi is an antibiotic and the molecule is cefixime.
The common side effects of cefixime are diarrhea, vomiting or skin reactions. Cefixime itself does not causes swollen eyes.
I want to know for which condition he has been put on cefixime.
Significant early morning swelling around eyes can be due to some renal problem(loss of protein in urine),allergy(if he is also suffering from cough and cold) or if the swelling is mild it may be a subjective finding of normal variant(without any specific reason and which improves on its own).
I won't get overly worried if the swelling is mild,it does not increases rapidly, baby is passing urine normally and other wise child is active and playful.
I would suggest you to observe the baby and if you find any significant problem consult your physician for further evaluation.

Please let me know if you have any more doubts.
Wishing for your child's speedy recovery.
Regards

Brief Answer:
Most likely cause of swollen eyes is allergy

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for follow up

In the presence of cough and cold, the most likely cause is congestion and allergy(not drug allergy). This should also recover with the improvement in cough/cold.
So just observe the baby and if you find any significant abnormality consult your pediatrician.
