What Causes Swollen Glands In Neck?
Question: The gland on my right side of my neck is slightly swollen but is very sore when I touch it. I just got over the flu without any problems and without seeing my doctor. I feel tired and I don't feel well but I can't put a finger on what's wrong. I am a 59 year old female and had my tonsils out when I was 5.
Brief Answer:
post flu acute lymphadenitis.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
In my opinion, post viral or post flu infection there will be usually enlargement of lymph node.
This can be treated with antibiotics + anti inflammatory medicines like paracetamol + diclofenac combination drugs twice daily for 3 to 5 days. I would suggest you to consult with the doctor and get treated.
Hope my answers have helped you.
Thanks.
