What Causes Swollen Lip, Headache And Dizzy Spells After Receiving Shingles Vaccination?
Question: How long can you expect adverse reactions after shingles vaccination? I had the vaccination on Friday. On Saturday I had swelling at the injection site & a swollen lip. I have had a mild headache since injection. I took 25mg Benadryl on Saturday. Upper lip was swollen until Sunday. I am now having dizzy spells the last 3 days. Today is the worse. I started with migraine aura, then my ears started ringing really bad & then dizziness. Now I still have ringing plus nausea. Been laying down for last 20 minutes
Brief Answer:
Other causes to rule out...
Detailed Answer:
Hi my dear,
I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concern.
Shingles vaccine is rarely associated with adverse effects, where allergy reaction is the most common.
From your saying, what you are experiencing is not an allergy reaction. It is more a normal reaction to the vaccine. Keep well hydrated, take pain killers. If headache will persist, should consult with your primary physician to rule out other diagnosis like oscillations in blood pressure, spondyloarthrosis, etc.
Hope it was of help.
