What Causes Swollen Lymph Nodes Of Neck After Dental Infection?
Brief Answer:
They resolve gradually over 2-3 weeks.
Detailed Answer:
Hi Mrs XXXXXXX
It is common to have swollen lymph nodes of neck after dental infection. After the infection subsides, they resolve gradually over 2-3 weeks.
A non resolving lymph node should warrant a search for residual infection.
As you have pending appointment to a dentist shortly, bring this to his notice and ask for a thorough search for infection elsewhere in the oral cavity. If he can not find one, he may give a second course of antibiotic or may order FNAC to confirm the infection.
In any case, there is no need to worry.
Hope this helped.
