What Causes Swollen Painful Labia Majora?
Question: Hi, I have had a swollen labia majora (right side) and pain for 2 days. I am sleeping with someone and we are unprotected (but monagimus). And I have PCOS and have had hidradenitis suppurativa under my armpits and groin area before. It feels like a round lump that is painful in my outer vaginal lip. Could this be herpes?

Brief Answer:
Not herpes.Bacterial infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for follow up query.
It is a single inflamed lesion. It does not appear like herpes. It is a bacterial infection .It may be folliculitis or glands infected.Unlikely to be cyst as it is painful and resolving.
Clean the area with warm water twice daily.I would have suggested topical antibiotics like mupirocin and antiinflammatory analgesic like brufen. If persists oral antibiotics may be needed .
You can get back for any clarification.
