What Causes Swollen Parotid Gland?
Salivary duct stone
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns
You have had a new onset swelling of a salivary gland on the side of your mouth. What you have here is a salivary duct stone that is blocking the duct. I would recommend that you eat sour candy. What the sour candy does is increase pressure behind the stone and help dislodge the stone. If that does not work then you may need an antibiotic. The antibiotic helps to dislodg the stone too. If all these measures don't help then an ENT doctor has to make a smell incision into the duct allowing the stone to be removed.
This is a common problem and should resolve after the above measures are done.
I hope I answered your question. Please contact us again if you have any additional questions
