Posted on Sat, 19 Nov 2016
Question: I have in my throat a feeling of a soft cyst that swells up on different sides of my throat . Good in the morning and by night it's large. I saw a ent and he told me it was acid reflex, take Prevacid nothing is working . This came after thyroid surgery in April. In which I coded and they had to intabate me. Not sure if I have an injury or not , no pain not hard to swollen but something feels full.

Brief Answer:
Along with medicines follow non pharmacological measures

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome
I have gone through your query and do understand your concern.
As ENT specialist was not able to find any problem on examination, it is more likely to be acid reflux.
Apart from the ( acid reducing agent) medicines you have to follow some non pharmacological measures .

for GERD, I would suggest you to avoid food that are known to aggrevate the symptoms like citrus, chilly, spicy, fried, coffee, carbonated drinks, intake of meat, add more vegetables to your diet. Diet rich in fiber will be beneficial. You can take curd which will be helpful.

Eat small frequent meals instead of heavy one. Avoid lying down immediately after food, walk for 10 to 15 minutes after food. Do not starve as it increases the acidity, eat food frequently. Keep the head area raised while sleeping, use two pillows. Avoid smoking and alcohol.

This provisional advice provided by me is based entirely on the input provided to me. I would suggest examination by the doctor.

I hope this suggestion might be of some help to you.
Take care.
