Question : I have a copper iud in but my doctor put me on nuvaring to alter period for a trip that I am on now. Put in for 3 weeks took out 1 week no period. Put next one in and started feeling nauseous and tender breasts. Took out after a week and its been 6 weeks still no period and nauseous although not as bad. Have only had sex 2 times but like I said I have an iud in so really don't think I am pregnant. Can the nuvaring cause this much change in my body ?

                                    Brief Answer:
please do a pregnancy test
Detailed Answer:
Dear member,
Thanks for writing.
Nuva ring releases estrogen hormones into the body. It's similar to the pill.
Please do a pregnancy test .even though you have the iucd pregnancy has to be ruled out.
Hormonal contraception does cause minor sideeffects like breast tenderness and nausea bloated sensation.
As you have discontinued the same it will decrease after your period.
Hope this was helpful
Thanks

                                    Brief Answer:
no. you should get your period within few days
Detailed Answer:
Dear member,
Thanks for writing back.
The period should happen within as few days or a week atmost after stopping or removal of the ring.
If pregnancy test is negative you can wait for some time.
You may get your period spontaneously.
Occasionally women have anovulation cycles. In these cycles the period may occur later and cause premenstrual symptoms as you mentioned.
You will most probably get a negative pregnancy test in which case you can wait for 2 weeks.
