What Causes Throat Burning With Hot Food?

default
Posted on Mon, 4 May 2015
Question: I burnt my throat about 3 months ago on a piece of Lasagna. Although it isn't sore now it has affected my voice and I sound hoarse and spend my time trying to clear my throat. Do you think I need to seek medical attention? Could I have done long term damage?.

Brief Answer:
Throat burning with hot food will cause only temporarily damage to throat .

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the query.

I have read your query and understand your concern.

As per your clinical history it appears that you are most probably having allergic post nasal discharge with chronic laryngitis . Throat burning with hot food will cause only temporarily damage to throat .

If I were your treating Doctor for this case , I would advice you
consult ENT specialist & get endoscopy of larynx done .
Till then i would advice ,
use saline nasal rinse or spray thrice daily ,
salt water gargle twice daily &
tab allegra at night .

You will get relief .

Hope it is helpful to you . If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Regards.
