What Causes Throat Irritation While Swallowing The Food?

Question: Hello, so a couple of days ago I noticed that when I was swallowing food it felt as if the food was scratching my throat. Nothing hurt or anything but I looked in my mouth and I guess took a breath and saw this bump by my tonsil. It does not hurt or anything but does it look to be bad? What could have caused it? Is this what I feel when I swallow food? Will it go away? I used to use chewing tobacco a while ago, could it be cancer? I am a 21 year old white male. The bump is right in front of my tonsil and is like a brown color , Also the feeling of scratching is on the right side of my throat (the side with the bump) I remember this happened suddenly one night and I was joking with my friend breathing in air really aggressively where it would sort of vibrate my throat I guess, could the scratch sensation be because of this? The bump is lodged between my tongue and is on the flabby part that extends when I stretch my mouth. I hope that makes sense. I will upload pictures, thank you!

Hi Sir,
I have gone through your query and uploaded picture; it suggests that most probably you may be suffering from the tonsillar cyst and granular pharynigitis. This condition may be due to the bacterial infection.

According to my best of knowledge it could not be a cancer.

In this condition I personally suggest that you may go for the throat swab bacterial culture and antibiotic sensitivity and treatment according to the test result.

If I were your treating doctor then I prescribed You
Tablet amoxycillin and clavullinic acid 625mg twice a day.
Tablet Allegra 120mg once a day.
Diluted hydrogen peroxide and Hexidine mouth gargles after each meal.

There is no need to worry, they are normally present in most of people but if you are over conscious and condition persist even after the conservative management then better to go for the excision of the cyst.

o I do not need to do anything about it? It should be fine? Also, is it just in my head that I feel a scratch feeling when I swallow?
