Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic
Exercise can cause joint or muscle strain , it can also be associated with muscular spasms.
The muscular strain occurs as a result of microscopic tears that occur in the muscles during exercise. Though any exercise that your body is used to can cause this soreness (called delayed onset muscle soreness), exercises such as push ups are commonly associated with it. This is because , push ups , along with other activities cause the muscles to forcefully contract while they lengthen (called eccentric muscle contractions).
Aerobic exercise is actually shown to be effective, by increasing blood flow, to help with this activity.
Muscular spasms would also causes cramping and tension. Muscular spasms occur with exercise if the muscles contract involuntarily. They are likely to occur is there is muscle fatigue (if muscles are unused to the level of activity) or if there is excess fluid loss.
This can be avoided by using enough fluids.
If the cramping and stiffness is severe, the use of anti inflammatory medication would also be helpful
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any additional questions
