What Causes Tightness And Pain In Neck While Swallowing?

seemsto be esophageal spasm.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I had gone through your question and understand your concerns that you are having painful swallow. I would like to ask you few more details.
Is there any burning sensation in chest ?
Is there any difficulty or pain even for liquids (water) ?
Kindly get back to me with the details.
As per your clinical details, it could be due to esophageal spasm or due to gastro esophageal reflex disease (most common in your age).
As such, swallowing involves many nerves and muscles is in the mouth, throat area, and esophagus (the tube that moves food to the stomach). Part of swallowing is voluntary, which means you are aware of controlling the action. However, much of swallowing is involuntary. Rubbing or stretching will not help.
I suggest the following measures, to overcome your painful swallow.
1. Take ppi inhibitors + prokinetics combination like pan-d (pantoprazole +domperidone) twice daily before food (half an prior).
2. Eat slowly and chew food well, Avoid very cold or very hot foods.
3. Have timely meals, take 6 small, instead of large 3.
4. keep 3 hours intervel between dinner and sleep. sleep in head elevated position (by supporting extra pillows, one can prevent regurgitation of partially digested food).
In case of persistence, need to see ent surgeon, to rule out other causes.
Hope this answers your question, if you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
Wishing you good health.

Thanks for considering my answer and for your follow up.
Yes. It is a prescribed medication, you need to get it prescribed from local doctor.
Do not worry. Sudden onset of swallowing difficulty, is always traumatic. Progressive nature occurs due to growing mass.
Follow the instructions, what I have already mentioned for couple of days. It will resolve.
Hope, I have answered your query.
