What Causes Tightness And Pain In The Back?

Question: yesterday evening I began to feel tightness and pain in my back only on the right hand side.
Had difficulty sleeping and finding a comfortable position. Could only move with great difficulty today with more pain still localized to back right side, diarrhea, nausea, and constant abdominal pressure. Took 4 Aleve over the day and used heating pad which helped. Standing, sitting, bending, coughing, sneezing all painful.
what do you advise? Thank you

Brief Answer:
Can be muscle stiffness.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The tightness and pain in the back can be related to a muscle stiffness. in addition to a hot compress it is best to take an oral muscle relaxant and imodium for diarrhoea and an over the counter antiemetic for relief. Do take a light and an easy to digest diet till it improves.
I hope this answers your query.

Thank you.
Is there an OTC muscle relaxant you recommend?
what additional symptoms should make me seek urgent care?
Also how long should this pain and discomfort last?
do you have advice??
