Question: Hi, I am having stomach pain after having chapati..from last three weeks I am eating rice in the morning and evening..after eating even a single chapati my stomach becomes tight and it starts paining .please help me with this issue.. Thanks

This can be due to GERD ( REFLUX ESOPHAGITIS)

First of all, drink plenty of water orally. Avoid junk food. Avoid spicy oily and fatty food. Do not lie down immediately after taking food . Reduce your weight and do exercise regularly.

you can take tablet rantac before meal but for this you will need prescription by your doctor. you can also take antacid syrup to decrease your symtoms.

do not worry.

Hi sir,
When I am eating spicy food even then there is no stomach pain..only after having chapati I am suffering from pain.so what is the problem.and what is the reson of this.

i understood your query.

Pain after having food is most likely due to GERD. In these cases, you may have burning pain due to increased acid secretion.

If you have specially pain after having chapati, it can be due to improper digestion or malabsorption or allergy to that perticular food.

I advise you to stop taking chapati for few days and see whether you get pain or not. if you do not get pain it means you might be allergic to that. also avoid spicy and oily food.

Otherwise continue treatment as advised you before. DRINK MORE WATER

I am not eating chapati from last 3 weeks.stomach is fine if I am eating rice.but how could it be possible for me to continue with rice in morning and evening.yesterday I tried eating one chapati and it causes me lots of pain.even after having chapati it not only the pain but I also I have to go to washroom.if it is a allergy the how can I overcome this.
Also, please confirm if don't take medicine and only follow drinking water, avoid spicy nd oily food then will it be fine? Because I have already taken lots of medicines.

i understood your concern.

you are not getting pain and discomfort if you do not take chapati. that means there is allergy or indigestion due to chapati. the content of chapati is not suitable to you. is there any other item due to which you have same problem? will you please tell your weight and age?

i advise you to avoid chapati and 1st get relief from all these symptoms by taking medicines.

once you get relief from symptoms, yes it will be fine that you can remain fine without medication too .

Even if the symptoms continues, then it is mostly due to peptic ulcer or malabsorption syndrome for which upper gastrointestinal endoscopy may be needed for confirmation . In such case, consultation with physician can help you.
