What Causes Tightness In Lower Legs Post Spinal Surgery?

My husband has"tightness in his lower legs... Like wearing knee socks that are too tight"
Has had successful spinal surgery/15+ years ago, ruled out neuropathy recently... Could it be either more neuro issues or as simple as vitamin deficiency? He is an amazing 80 yrs old!
Thanks, XXXXXXX
This does not seem to be from the spine.

Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Such tightness can be caused by several issues. Neuro issues usually cause burning or tingling rather than tightness. So this does not seem to be from the spine.
I assume that the tightness is on both sides. So the problem is not in the legs, but somewhere else in the body. It can be Magnesium and Potassium deficiency, vitamin deficiency, heart insufficiency or kidney failure. Last two possibilities usually gives swelling.
It would be good to have some tests done. He should have blood work (CBC, creatine, BUN), urine analysis.
If he has swelling, heart ultrasound should be done as well.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.

No swelling so we will get blood work and check for deficiencies with the vitamins.
