Question: Hello I've been having numbness and tingling to my left 2nd and third toe off and on for about 5 days. I had my blood sugar checked and it was 121. I don't have a medical history and I take OTC medicines like magnesium, melatonin and Benadryl on weekly basis. Do you have any recommendations

Brief Answer:
Seems to be a neuropathy

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting the query.

Hope this message finds you in good health.

Tingling and numbness in feet can occur due to peripheral neuropathy. This may be a result of vitamin B6 and B12 deficiency or due to long standing diabetes mellitus.

Even if the present blood sugar levels are in normal range, such kind of neuropathies are quite common if the sugar levels were deranged earlier.

There is nothing much to worry about.

Take multivitamin tablets, especially vitamin B12, for atleast 3 weeks. You can take calcium and vitamin D3 tablets as an adjunctive therapy.

If this doesn't help, you can gel blood B12 levels checked.

If the weather is cold, wear woolen stockings and avoid walking bare feet on the ground,as this may exaggerate the symptoms.

Application of local gel and hot fomentation in lukewarm water will help.

I hope the answer was helpful.

If you have any doubts, you can always get back to me.

Thank you.

Kind regards...
