What Causes Tingling Sensation In Ear When Suffering From Eustachian Tube Dysfunction?

Do not worry! It can be treated...
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for posting the query: I will try my best to help you out with this query.
Eustachian tube dysfunction (ETD) is one of the commonest ENT problems. Do not worry! With appropriate intervention it can taken care of.
The tingling sensation you are noticing in the ear or behind the nose is due to frequent opening and closing of the Eustachian tube. Eustachian tube is the connection between the nose and ear, which tries to maintain the pressure between the outer atmosphere and the middle ear.
When there is swelling around the nasal end of the tube following inflammation, the pressure gets accumulated inside the middle ear. During swallowing, breathing, yawning, talking, etc. there is sudden and forceful opening of the tube causing irritation of the surrounding nerves and relieving the pressure. This gives rise to tingling sensation.
After discussing with your doctor you need to use a steroid nasal spray to relieve the congestion and tingling sensation. Drink lots of warm water and do steam inhalation, you will definitely feel better.
Hope I have answered this query: I will be available for the follow-up queries.

Good luck...
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing back
I'm sorry, I did not know you had a perforation in the eardrum. Do not worry! With the measures discussed with you earlier, the perforation will heal faster and also the Eustachian tube will open up.
One more piece of advice, please avoid water getting into the affected ear. Every time before you take bath, use a silicone ear plug or cotton ball smeared with Vaseline to plug the ear canal.
I wish you good luck and good health.
