What Causes Tingling Sensation In Head And Leg In An Elderly Man?
Question: From last few weeks, my grand-father is complaining about tingling sensation in his head and leg. This mostly occurs when he woke-up post afternoon sleep and keep him uncomfortable for at least 30 minutes. He has been on medication for last couple of years so can not relate this sensation as side-effect of medication also.
I am interested in knowing if this is some known symptoms of any health concern or it is due to excessive best rest (due to age).

Brief Answer:
Get examined and evaluated by a Neurologist
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concern.
At this age, Tingling in head and legs may be due to brain involvement due to vascular changes.
Other possibilty may be headache and associated lumbosacral radiculopathy caused by nerve root compression.
Is there any vomiting, loss of consciousness, previous stroke, seizures, visual loss?
Any back pain, urinary complains? Any reports if available?
Visit and consult a Neurologist for examination.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Do get back to me for further information.

Thank Dr XXXXXXX yes I will visit neurologist ASAP.He does not have any of the symptoms that you have mentioned. So far I am suspecting that it may be because of he is sitting idle most of the time and physical activity is very limited. He is pretty okay when walking or doing some activity. Tingling is observed only when he woke up.
Brief Answer:
Continue same treatment
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Though the symptoms are non specific and non serious but evaluation by a neurologist will be helpful.
Till then continue rest medications.
Wishing him a good health and early recovery.
