Brief Answer:
Cause of tingling feet and treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX, thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern. I am a brain and spine specialist. I can help you with your tingling sensation of both feet. As you have already consulted more than 12 doctors, I am assuming that your MRI lumbar spine was normal. So lumbar disc protrusion as one of the cause, is ruled out.

Another possibilities in you can be

- Deficiency of neuron specific vitamins - Generally people take B complex to prevent its deficiency, but forget about vitamin E. It is one of the vitamin which can cause tingling sensation if low in body. You can take its course after taking proper prescription from doctor. You can take tocopherol tablets thrice a day.

- Peripheral vascular disease - If you are regular smoker, it can cause decreased blood supply in your feet and thus tingling in extremities. You can get your ultrasound doppler done to rule out it. Meanwhile avoid smoking.

- Urticaria - You mentioned that you are having generalised itching. It can be due to allergy of body also known as "Urticaria". Urticaria can also cause tingling in feet. It can be further confirmed by the history and examination. If you have a history of rubbing the itch areas rather than scratching and also there is rapid redness of skin, it means you are suffering from it.

It can be treated by antiallergics like cetrizine. You can consult dermatologist for more relief.

- Peripheral sensory neuropathy - It can be suspected if there is any history of diabetes/loss of sensation in feet/painless wound/history of drug or alcohol abuse. For confirmation, you can get nerve conduction velocity of lower limb nerves.
Further treatment will depend upon root cause of neuropathy.

Hope it will help you something. If you have nay doubts, you can ask me. I will be happy to help you. Thanks. Take care.
