Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
1. This is a referred pain/sensation/neuralgia originating from the ear. This is because of common nerve supply to these areas.
2. Medication for neuralgias differs from routine painkillers.
3. First get the ear checked again for any new infection, granulation or scar. If there is nothing abnormal in the ear canal, you may wait and watch for a few weeks. If not, request medication for neuralgia (such as amitriptyline, carbamazepine, gabapentin or pregabalin). All these medications cause drowsiness, hence low doses may be taken at night.
I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.
Regards.
