Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. The course of Meniere's Disease is unpredictable and hence you need to get her examined to first confirm that this is a recurrence of Meniere's Disease.

2. A salt restricted diet, Diamox (acetazolamide for short term use) along with Vertin (behahistine) and supportive medication (such as for nausea and vomiting) will help control this recurrence. She will need to take these medications under the strict supervision of a doctor.

3.Meniere's Disease has other tests and treatments besides the above medication. Kindly follow up with her response to this initial treatment.

I hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be available to answer them.

Regards.

Hi,

Thank you for writing back.

1. The above mentioned treatment is adequate to control the attack, the supportive medication includes Stemetil (prochlorperazine) 5 mg and Ondem (ondensetron) 4 mg (for vomiting).

2. I recommend that you avoid self medication and get a prescription from a physician.

I hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
