Brief Answer:
High blood pressure/Tension type headache

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.

These symptoms of constant noise in head and feeling of pressure are most likely due to the following causes in your case-
1)High blood pressure-can commonly result in such symptoms. So,BP should be sincerely monitored and treated. This can be the likely cause over here.
2)Tension type headache- stress and excessive fatigue can frequently cause tensed scalp muscles and a feeling of pressure/fullness in head.It can also result into noise like sensations in head.Regular mental relaxation exercises like meditation/yoga may help and medicines may be started if symptoms are intolerable.

If you have some further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.

Thank you. Your answers seem to be exactly what I was suspecting.
My second question is: What should my Blood pressure range be for an active old woman at age 79.
My older friends say according to their doctor it should range 150/90 to 160/90 or slightly more, before stressing out over it.
My BP runs in their ranges with Linsinopril and low presser 2 x a day. All other meds prescribed to be added have given me severe side effects.

Brief Answer:
At your age,it should aim for BP less than 150/90 mm hg.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being in follow-up.

That's pretty right. At more than 60 years of age, target BP should be less than 150/90 mm hg.
So,if lisinopril suits you well and maintains your BP in the target range, you should of course continue with it.

If you have some further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up else please close the thread, rate it and write a review.
