What Causes Tiredness After Urination?

default
Posted on Tue, 21 Oct 2014
Question: What to do when I feel tired after peeing so I feel energetic?
It's been lasting for 2 months (I think) now. I get a bit of a red face and also feel spacy and tired after going to the bathroom. It's only peeing and not for pooping (excuse the language). I poo like 1-2 times a day. I also have the urge to pee a lot during the day.
I also have feet that tingle. Maybe it has a connection.

Brief Answer:
Evaluation for genitourinary infection needed

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for posting the concern in HCM.

My understanding is that you are having hot flush after urinating and having increased frequency of urination. This may happen due to urinary tract infection or any other genitourinary infection. However, endocrinological causes, like Diabetes mellitus and insipidus, Thyroid disease, Polycystic ovarian disease etc. need to be excluded.

Therefore, you should consult a local internal medicine specialist for clinical examination and evaluation.
You would need to do the following tests -
Complete blood count, urea, creatinine, LFT, electrolytes, fasting TSH, fasting sugar, HbA1c, Serum Calcium.
Urine for Routine examination and culture & sensitivity testing
USG whole abdomen

Please continue with the healthy lifestyle you are having at present. This is very much satisfying to learn that a person is perfectly maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Brief Answer:
Depends upon the diagnosis

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for posting the query again.
My understanding is if we maintain a healthy lifestyle, diet and exercise, we can prevent many diseases and also our immune system becomes strong enough to fight many infections and prevent serious complications.
But, sometimes our body mechanism fails to fight against the infections or diseases despite being in good shape. At that point of time, we need external support in the form of medications.
So, whether a disease or infection can be treated with lifestyle alone, depends on the type and severity of the disease.
The tests I mentioned earlier would help us to diagnose the underlying cause of the symptoms you are having and also help us to know the severity. Then only it is possible to say whether you need an antibiotic or any other medication or not.
You need not change your current lifestyle or diet right now. Rather, you should have the tests done, so that we can come to a final diagnosis. Final diagnosis can be the same as the provisional diagnosis made from the history alone or may be different. Any definitive form of treatment approach should be based on the final diagnosis.
Therefore, please have the tests done.
Regards.
