What Causes Tortuous Colon?
Question: My wife has a tortuous colon. This was discovered 4 years ago during a colonoscopy. The colonoscopy was incomplete and she had a Barium enema with air. At that time, no obstructions, no diverticula and no polyps were seen. She now has severe constipation and plans to see the doctor. What could be causing the constipation and what can she do to get relief? I always worry that a tumor could be involved but the Barium exam showed no sign of cancer, albeit 4 years ago.
