Brief Answer:
Propranolol LA
Detailed Answer:
Dear Ms XXXXXXX
Thanks for the query. There are many causes of tremors but the most common is just essential or primary tremor, that is shaking of the hands and sometimes the head and neck without a secondary cause. It is seen more often in older adults and usually runs in families. Propranolol, a non-selective Beta blocker is usually considered in such cases. You can certainly discuss this option with your prescribing provider.
Hope this helps, wish you the best,

Brief Answer:
Most welcome
Detailed Answer:
I have seen great results in many patients with propranolol, including those with thyroid disease. Despite being an older medication, it is still first-line for such indication. The main interactions would be related to other medications that slow down the heart, such as verapamil, diltiazem, metoprolol, etc. Side effects may include slower heart rate, fatigue, some changes in mood, but these are not frequent.
There is short acting propranolol that you take up to 4 times per day (I do not recommend it, too difficult to keep up with all doses) and a long-acting formulation labeled propranolol LA, that is taken once a day.
Hope this helps, if no further questions you may close and rate accordingly, wish you the very best!
