What Causes Uncontrollable Shaking In A Diabetic Patient?
Question: Sudden uncontrollable shaking, cold feeling, 63 yr old diabetic. Sugar 136
Brief Answer:
neurologic vs. infection
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question.
Shaking like this can come from either a neurologic cause or from an infection. In either cause you need to see your doctor for an exam and blood work.
If you have fever or any other signs of infection (cough, unexplained pain, pain with urination, skin infection, abdominal pain) you need to be seen immediately.
If you do not have signs of infection make sure that you are drinking plenty of water, that your sugars stay in a normal range, that you are eating regularly and make an appointment with your doctor.
Please let me know if you have further questions
