What Causes Unexplained Mass Near Vagina Along With White Watery Vaginal Discharge?

Question: I have a mass that feels like a marble shape next to my vagina.under the skin. It has been there for a few weeks. It is not painful. There is a burning sensation and a white watery discharge from the vagina. I am a 60 years old. Could this be a cancerous bartholin cyst. If so with a mass this large would the stage be high.

Before giving my opinion about your proble, I want to ask a few questions from you.

- Are your vaginal discharge smelly also?
- What is the color of mass and is it increasing in size from last 2-3 weeks or size not change?
- Taking any type of medicatio?
- Any other symptoms like weight loss( as you are thinking it can be cancerous).

The discharge is not smelly. The mass is next to the vulva and is about the same size, it is pinkish and extends near the opening. Taking no meds. No weight loss. Don,t know how to send a picture

The chances of cancer is only 2-4%.

With your description the chances of carcinoma are quite less.

The chances of bartholin gland cancer are only 2-4 % but yes at your age any suspected mass needs evaluation.

The size of bartholin gland cyst may variate from as small as pea and as big as an egg.

You should consult a Gynaecologist and get yourself examined and if she suspect than biopsy should be done to rule out the cancer.
