What Causes Unilateral Pain In The Jaw?
Question: I have an aching jaw but just on the left side. It hurts to chew. It doesnt seem to involve the teeth or gums. What could possibly cause this?
Brief Answer:
Can be related to jaw joint.
Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Thanks for the query..
Pain in jaw on one side which is painful to chew can be related to jaw joint [TMJ] related problems if it is not related to teeth or gum infection..
So my suggestion to you is to consult an Oral Physician and get yourself examined.
For confirmation a Panoromic x ray will be advised.
For now you can take anti inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen and muscle relaxants like Tizanidine..
Take a soft diet and avoid excess mouth opening like during yawning and laughing..
Please write back for more queries.
Hope this helps..
Regards..
